Occasionally, it becomes necessary to refer a client to a medical doctor because of a problem that comes up during pregnancy. Because clients are screened carefully for risk factors on an ongoing basis, problems can be detected before they become emergent. We at Morning Star Women's Health and Birth Center of Menomonie, WI have a good working relationship with providers at several medical facilities, and require that our clients choose a back-up physician in the event that additional medical care is required.

We can help you find a physician whose philosophies match yours. You can sign an authorization for release of information so that we can share information regarding your care. Once the problem is resolved, we can resume regular care. Should hospital birth become necessary, your midwife would accompany you to the hospital, remain there with you during your birth and continue routine postpartum care.
