Your Morning Star Birth Center midwife's services continue in the days and weeks after the baby is born. We will do a 24 hour exam in your, the new mother's, home and touch base daily by telephone for at least 5 days. On day 3 we'll schedule an appointment at the Birth Center in Menomonie (usually your first outing after the birth).Then, one-week, three-week and six-week postpartum checkups will follow. These visits give us a chance to connect and monitor your healing, incorporating the demands of the new baby, breastfeeding, baby's growth, emotional well being, and family planning. A Pap test and family planning appointment can be done at your six-week exam, if desired. We are always available, night or day, if questions or concerns arise in the postpartum period.
